Job Description / Responsibility
- Project Officer-Technical (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) is the responsible person for implementation of WASH components of the project. The position will ensure the program continues to compliment project�s outcomes through achieving result of the WASH component and at the same time positive collaboration with respective stakeholders. S/he will be ensuring quality of implementation process, particularly for WASH interventions.
- Develop the work plan for WASH components in coordination with whole project team and ensuring this plan will meet project activities.
- Responsible for mapping tube-wells in whole Tazumuddin Upazilla, identify spots for new tube-wells installation in collaboration with communities as well as stakeholders.
- Prepare action plan and take initiatives of water option and sanitation option installation according to the guideline of project�s action plan.
- Proposed site visit and test the feasibility according to the criteria for installation of hardware options and recommend for installation. Check all hardware options before and after completion of installation
- Provide technical support and guidance to front line staff and to develop skills & capacity of Self Help Groups, and establish participatory mechanism to monitor and ensure quality implementation of activities.
- Conduct awareness sessions on pure Health, Hygiene, drinking water and sanitary latrine for the community.
- Coordinate the stakeholders of the project i.e. LGI, PHE Dept, Local Administration, skill mechanics, tube well boring groups, Community Leaders, other organizations etc.
- Support PM to prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and donor report.
- Ensuring knowledge and capacity building of community people on Water & Sanitation, health, hygiene issues
- Developing awareness material for WASH and conducting awareness sessions according to the plan.
- Promoting community base monitoring on drinking water, health hygiene, and sanitation behavior and practice as well as community garbage management.
- Capacity building and empowerment of the SHG and community bodies on WASH management and other issues.
- Work with IRB�s Livelihood & Community Development and advocacy team on linkage building with service provider on relating issues.

- Job location is Tazimuddin Upazilla under Bhola District.
- Candidate who will not interested to stay at Tazimuddin need not to apply.
- Minimum 3 (Three) years experience in an international NGO�s.
- Proven expertise and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point & Adobe Package & Auto Cad
- Experience in community development project focusing on WASH management,monitoring, and implementation within a development organization/NGO
- Should have strong knowledge on rural water supply, water quality monitoring, hygiene promotion and sanitation approaches
- Willing to learn on the local mechanisms, culture and development/environmental issues of the region;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Valid Driving license for motorbike & Willing to travel various field accordingly.
- Experience of managing financial resources and budgets.
- Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills.
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Willing to adapt to IRW�s norms and values
- Supportive, effective and good team player
- Strong people-management skills
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
