Job Description / Responsibility
- Project Officer (Veterinary Surgeon) is the responsible person for implementation of the project for livelihood development of beneficiaries specially focuses on livestock development. The position will ensure the program continues to compliment project�s outcomes through livestock as an option of livelihood and at the same time positive collaboration with respective stakeholders. S/he will ensure quality implementation process, particularly for livestock interventions. This position needs strong technical skills and high motivation to support project management.
- Develop work plan in coordination with project team and ensuring this plan will meet project activities
- Technical support on livestock related issues including animal and poultry disease diagnosis, prevention, control and management and market linkage
- Apply preventive health, hygienic health, calf health and udder health management program to beneficiary
- Delivery of community � based productive veterinary services including fertility program to beneficiary
- Training on livestock health management, feeding and fodder cultivation techniques
- Plan, implement and promote livestock income generating activities
- Ensure training on livestock IGAs
- Provide support to prepare relevant training curriculum, module, handout along with required visual materials like as livestock flip chart, hand book for the partner staff and beneficiary
- Work closely with program staffs to develop work plans and budgets , preparation and planning of overall de-worming , vaccination and animal health camp and campaign program
- Coordination and communication with project stakeholders- GOs, NGOs.
- Provide regular formal and informal written and verbal updates and feed back as program for internal and external needs
- Organize and conduct of meeting, seminar and workshop with project stakeholders, GOs and internal project staffs.
- Perform any other related duties and activities as per project required
- Ensuring knowledge and capacity building of community people on livestock development
- Develop awareness material for livestock program and conducting awareness sessions according to the plan.
- Capacity building and empowerment of the SHG and community bodies through income generation with livestock development
- Work with IRB�s L&CD and advocacy team on linkage building with service provider on relating issues

- Job location is Tazimuddin Upazilla under Bhola District. Candidate who will not interested to stay at Tazimuddin need not to apply.
- Minimum 3 (Three) years experience in an international NGO�s.
- Proven expertise and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Proven experience in livelihoods development project focusing on poultry & livestock development within a development organization/NGO.
- Should have strong knowledge on SLDP, Small poultry firm management.
- Willing to learn on the local mechanisms, culture and development/environmental issues of the region;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Valid Driving license for motorbike & Willing to travel various field accordingly.
- Experience of managing financial resources and budgets.
- Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills.
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Willing to adapt to IRW�s norms and values
- Supportive, effective and good team player
- Strong people-management skills
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
