Job Description / Responsibility
- Project Officer-DRR & CCA is responsible for implementation of the project specifically focuses on DRR & CCA components. The position will ensure the Project continues to compliment project�s outcomes ensuring the targeted communities/ households are well equipped in disaster risk reduction and communities have increased resilience to climatic variability and natural disaster.
- Developing work plan in coordination with project team and ensuring this plan will meet project activities.
- Facilitate Risk Reduction Action Plan preparation process at community and union level involving wider community people, stakeholders and local govt.
- Facilitate capacity-building support for the UDMC, UpzDMC, schools and religious institution�s members and Committees at different level on their roles and responsibility in pre and post disaster.
- Develop Community Risk Assessment (CRA) report and preparation of Risk Reduction Action Plan (RRAP), implementation of RRAP etc.
- Facilitate to Identify risk zones of the area for disaster, location of cyclone shelter and access roads for use during flood/ cyclone,
- Develop and display community risk mapping in public places,
- Listing the houses need elevate homestead plinth level and awareness building among them.
- Prepare a list the vulnerability groups such as pregnant women, elderly people and infants for special support during disaster situation,
- Develop training materials on DRR and CCA and provide training to the beneficiaries
- Help project team select climate adaptive IGA options
- Develop linkage and work closely with IRB�s CDR department.
- Support PM to prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and donor report.
- Developing awareness material on DRR & CCA and ensuring awareness sessions according to the plan.
- Facilitated RRAP, involving community in participated in this process. Address and reduce risks of different disasters, hazard and shock as part of risk reduction and mitigation.
- Capacity building of the SHG and community bodies and orientation sessions for project staff on DRR and CCA issues.
- Work with IRB�s Livelihood &Community Development and CDR team on linkage building with service provider and review policy and procedure.

relevant discipline from any recognized & UGC approved university.

- Job location is Tazimuddin Upazilla under Bhola District. Candidate who will not interested to stay at Tazimuddin need not to apply.
- Minimum 3 (Three) years experience in an international NGO�s.
- Proven expertise and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Proven experience in DRR & CCAP project within a development organization/NGO.
- Technical Knowledge on DRR and CCA especially in Costal District.
- Willing to learn on the local mechanisms, culture and development/environmental issues of the region;
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- Valid Driving license for motorbike & Willing to travel various field accordingly.
- Experience of managing financial resources and budgets.
- Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills.
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Willing to adapt to IRW�s norms and values
- Supportive, effective and good team player
- Strong people-management skills
- Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
