Job Description / Responsibility
  • Project Officer-Agriculture is the responsible person for implementation of the project specifically focuses on agriculture component. The position will ensure that the program continues to compliment project�s outcomes by promoting high yield climate adaptive agricultural products for project beneficiaries and increasing incomes of the beneficiaries through agricultural productions and at the same time positive collaboration with respective stakeholders. S/he will be to ensure quality of implementation process, particularly for Agricultural interventions.
  • Main Responsibility:
  • Developing work plan in coordination with project team and ensuring this plan will meet project activities.
  • Prepare action plan and take initiatives to introduce/improve climate adaptive crops among project beneficiaries, kitchen gardening, quality seed procurement, roadside or embankment tree plantation, sapling production etc.
  • Select beneficiaries for agriculture and ensure training for them.
  • Select beneficiaries for sapling distribution based on space availability for sapling planting.
  • Work closely with stakeholders e.g Upazilla agriculture officers, block supervisors, progressive farmers etc.
  • Take initiative and develop mechanism for roadside/ embankment tree plantation.
  • Support PM to prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and donor report.
  • Ensuring knowledge and capacity building of community people on climate adaptive agricultural crops, high yielding verity and help develop market linkage.
  • Developing training material and ensuring awareness/training sessions according to the plan.
  • Promote kitchen gardening, awareness building on tree plantation and contribute beneficiary�s livelihoods development through agricultural production development.
  • Capacity building and empowerment of the SHG and community bodies on livelihood options, increase incomes and awareness building on nutrition value of vegetables and other agricultural products.
  • Work with IRB's Livelihood &Community Development and advocacy team on linkage building with service provider and contribute in policy and procedure development.

Educational Requirements
    Master Degree in Agriculture or relevant discipline from any recognized & UGC approved university.

  • Job location is Tazimuddin Upazilla under Bhola District. Candidate who will not interested to stay at Tazimuddin need not to apply.
  • Minimum 3 (Three) years experience in an international NGO�s.
  • Proven expertise and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Proven experience in agriculture, training, sapling production, horticulture & nursery management within a development organization/NGO.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
  • Valid Driving license for motorbike & Willing to travel various field accordingly.
  • Experience of managing financial resources and budgets.
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills.
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Willing to adapt to IRW�s norms and values
  • Supportive, effective and good team player
  • Strong people-management skills
  • Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
  • Employment duration is approximate 2 years.
